#PresidentOnTheMove – Sunday Lunch

Learning to be more adaptable is proving to be the theme of 2020 and even for a hotel like ours, the same rules apply. Because we’re all human in this and we need to take care of our people. So, how do we do that? Not without some challenges BUT persevere we must and so, we’d like to introduce our latest food offering #AtThePresident.

Introducing #PresidentOnTheMove.

We soft-launched with some special lunchboxes on Mother’s Day, we’re starting too see an increase in our orders for pizza (free delivery is a cherry on top of a very delicious meal) and now we have expanded our menu to bring you a delicious home-cooked meal this Sunday. This is something we did for our locals at The Islands Restaurant each week and while we can’t continue the Sunday tradition here, we can still bring it to you.

Simply cook and serve – no mess, no fuss, no preparation – just the way we like it!

Each box comes with an instruction card from Chef Jacques Swart on how to heat and serve.

Menu for 31 May 2020: Cooking Time – 50 minutes (time includes sipping on your favourite tipple whilst preparing)

  • Freshly baked fennel mosbolletjies with salted butter
  • Cole slaw with mustard, mayonnaise and sultanas
  • Sous vide pork belly with tamari sauce OR chicken with tamari sauce (please indicate upon making your order if you would like pork or chicken)
  • Wok-fried pak choy with coconut shaving, sesame and scallions
  • Saffron and garden pea basmati rice
  • Sticky brandy pudding, toffee anglaise and caramel popcorn


Menu for 7 June 2020: Cooking Time – 50 minutes (keep sipping on that favourite tipple)

  • Freshly baked fennel mosbolletjies with salted butter
  • Slow cooked Beef Short Rib with braised apple and horseradish crème
  • Creamy Mascarpone and thyme polenta (Vegetarian)
  • Slow baked tomato tarte tatin with ricotta cheese and tarragon (Vegetarian)
  • Spinach and grilled artichoke bake with Emmental cheese (Vegetarian)
  • Build your own berry pavlova, with vanilla chantilly crème, seasonal berry compote, and a meringue nest

And a little gift from the kitchen… Muesli clusters, anise seed rusks and chocolate chip cookies for afternoon tea

Cost: R550 – serves 2, R1050 – serves 4, R1600 – serves 6

Delivery: Available in and around Cape Town. FREE delivery within 15km of the President Hotel.
